Job Description Caterlink is seeking a friendly and efficient Catering Assistant to join our team in Newmarket, United Kingdom.
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our students receive nutritionally balanced and tasty meals in a clean and welcoming environment.
Prepare a variety of foods and snacks according to menu plans and dietary requirements Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas Assist with the set-up and clean-up of the dining area before and after meal services Follow food safety protocols and complete necessary food safety training Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during meal times Respond to students' queries and concerns in a polite and helpful manner Contribute to a positive and inclusive dining experience for all students Adapt to changing needs and priorities in a busy school catering environment Qualifications Passion for food service and customer satisfaction Basic food preparation skills and willingness to learn Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding food safety and hygiene Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and peak service times Physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods Basic numeracy and literacy skills Willingness to complete food safety training (provided by Caterlink) Commitment to maintaining a clean and organised work environment Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting Strong time management and organisational skills Enthusiasm for contributing to the well-being of students through nutritious meals Additional Information There are many advantages to working for us including: With Caterlink you have the opportunity to a blended learning programme that can include formal qualifications including Apprenticeships, classroom training, eLearning and on the job training to support and encourage your development and enable you to be the best you can be.
