The role of the category manager in this context is to build a robust and reliable supply chain from Latin America and the far east on the key products that Pan United offers.
You would need to have a professional expertise in the role of category management - and ideally have some experience with perishable products and use it to drive sustainable value throughout the value chain.
You must be solutions focussed, finding new ways to deal with problems that come up and have a long term horizon to anticipate problems before they become bigger than they should.
The best value you can bring to the table is being able to organise and plan as far ahead as possible.
There will be challenges that come with procurement decisions you would make and it is integral to the role that you have the responsibility to deal with it and find creative solutions to manage the challenges.
In this role you would also be uniquely place to manage inventory and ensure that the supply chain is robust in the most challenging of circumstances and keep the sales team motivated about the projects you are working on.

Key Responsibilities: Proactively participating in strategy sessions Managing suppliers, orders and endeavouring to cultivate relationships with new suppliers Obtaining market intelligence about our key products from our customers.
Proactively analysing sales over time, and on key product categories and pivoting strategy around it.
Managing customer complaints and rejections, aiming to improve corrective actions Developing and reviewing corrective and preventative actions: Driving continuous Improvement across all levels of the organisation.
Managing communication with all relevant stakeholders Training & Development for all members of the organisation Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related subject.
(optional) Experience within the Fresh Produce Industry in a commercial capacity Proficiency in systems building - highly valuable to the company.
Ideal languages spoken Mandarin, Spanish and fluency in English
