Working closely with, and supporting, the Heads of Procurement and Procurement Director in delivering the Procurement and wider supply chain objectives, which include governance and functional support to the commercial teams.Primary Responsibilities Procurement Accountable and responsible for ensuring that the assigned procurement category delivers a professional, commercial and strategic service.Responsible for ensuring that expert advice is given to Senior Management teams to ensure that Taylor Wimpey is achieving best value through all of its procurement activities and is complying with relevant laws and regulations for the assigned procurement category.Managing and developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, driving continual innovation and quality improvement throughout ProcurementTo initiate and lead strategic Procurement projectsWorking with the Procurement and Supply Chain Director to support research and development initiativesTo assess both strategic and long term risks in Procurement and implement appropriate mitigation strategies as and when requiredTo support the Heads of Procurement in working closely with suppliers and Regional Business Units to recognise and deliver year on year business benefitsTo provide regular reports to the Procurement Director as requested on Procurement matters for their categoriesMaintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation, procedures and best practise Experience, Qualifications, Technical RequirementsApplication of Best Practice Procurement Tools and Techniques.
Good knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC and Health and Safety Requirements Wide experience in the procurement and purchase of materials and plant.
Working knowledge of contract law.
Competent in IT e.g.
database systems, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
