Job summary We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic senior administrator to join our busy department.
This role involves working alongside and managing a team of admin staff.
We require a hard working individual who has great organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise their work accordingly.
You must possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and an understanding of patient confidentiality and sensitivity is a must.
We require someone with a high standard of organisational skills in order to provide an efficient administrative service to the team.
This role will keep you both busy and challenged.
You must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, the ability to use your own initiative and work well under pressure.
You will need to be adaptable, reliable and a team player with previous staff management experience.
Knowledge of working in a hospital environment is desirable as is knowledge of the hospital systems.
"Previous applicants need not apply" Main duties of the job Manage and monitor the patient's through their treatment pathway ensuring compliance to RTT, cancer pathways and local waiting time standards.Effective management of the patient pathway, including monitoring of diagnostics and booking follow up appointments, adhering to government standards.Validating and Updating the RTT PTL, to ensure patients are seen within an appropriate time scale.To liaise with clinicians, service managers, waiting list staff and outpatient appointments (PSC) where patients are not booked within required timescales to agree and implement actions required to ensure full compliance.To work with the Lead Clinician and Ophthalmology Operations Managers on service demands and available capacity, implementing any changes required to maintain a fully compliant service.To provide regular reports on the General Ophthalmology activity and tracking compliance to Trust clinicians, managers and PCT representatives.You will be required to Supervise and support workloads, of Ophthalmology Admin Staff, recommending improvements or taking corrective actions where appropriate to facilitate the efficient and effective running of the department.Co-ordinate team leave/absences, using Healthroster, and ensure appropriate service cover is maintained.Manage the recruitment, selection and induction processes for new staff, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
