Job summary The Spa Medical Practice inDroitwich are looking to recruit an Administrator/Care Navigator as a result of retirement from the team, for their busysurgery serving 10800 patients in Droitwich.
Main duties of the job The job involves: dealing with telephone queries and signposting patients to appropriate services working on the front reception desk dealing with patients face to face dealing with queries from the whole practice team as required supporting in the administration functions of the practice fitting into a busy and professional reception team covering an array of other patient focussed tasks.
About us You will be part of a team of 10, working together to provide support to patients and clinical members of the practice team, in a modern purpose built health centre close to the town centre.The successful applicant will berequired to work 30 to hours per week Monday Friday spread across thepractice opening hours of 8am to 8pm and participate in a Saturday rota.
The working pattern will be a range of shiftsMonday to Friday with Saturday working as overtime on a Rota basis, pleasedo not apply if you are unable to commit to these shifts.You will be required to provideholiday and absence cover for your colleagues by mutual agreement.Salary will be dependent uponexperience, starting from £ per hour, you will be eligible for membershipof the NHS Pension scheme and a uniform will be provided.Closing Date: Tuesday5 February 2025Candidates who aresuccessful after first round interviews will be invited to undertake a trialshift as part of the recruitment process.
Job description Job responsibilities OBJECTIVES: To provide a supportive first point of contact for patients, their families and visitors at the practice.
To support the clinical teams in their roles and be an active member of the practice team.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY The following are the core responsibilities of the Care Navigator.
There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent on factors such as workload and staffing levels: 1.
Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition 2.
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests appropriately 3.
Process patient requests for appointments 4.
Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies 5.
Enter code data onto the clinical system.

Photocopy documentation as required 7.
Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required 8.
Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary 9.
Direct requests for information, SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms.

Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner 11.
Carry out system searches as requested 12.
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times 13.
Monitor and maintain the reception area and noticeboards Support all clinical staff with general tasks as request 15.
Participate in practice audit as directed by the audit lead 16.
Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences 17.
Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records 18.
Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota 19.
Any other duties commensurate with the role and competencies as deemed appropriate.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential GCSE or equivalent grade A to C in English Language and Maths Desirable Medical Terminology qualification PMC qualification Experience Essential Experience in a Health Care setting or customer facing role.
Able to demonstrate excellent Customer service skills through previous roles.
Good time keeping.
Flexible.
Desirable Knowledge of EMIS Clinical system Knowledge of Docman Knowledge of AccuRX messaging
