Description We are recruiting a team of Mental Health Support Workers to care for our young client with complex needs, living in their loving home in Benfleet, Essex.
Our Client Our client is a happy, cheeky, and playful individual.
He lives at home with his parents, and we are forming a dedicated care team to meet all of his needs.
Our client leads an active and full life with a busy social calendar and loves accessing the community.
He really enjoys swimming, and using his adapted chair to head to the bike track!
They have an adapted vehicle for regular outings, so candidates must be drivers.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as supporting young adults with behaviour that challenges, epilepsy, learning disabilities, and non-verbal communication.
Shift availability As we set up our client's regular team, our shift times will be 09:30 – 18:30 on weekdays and weekends.
Our shift times will then become 08:00 – 20:00 and 20:00 – 08:00, weekdays and weekends.
All shifts are 2:1.
Ref: REGRBU Responsibilities To be an advocate for the client, working in their best interest and in accordance with Superior Healthcare's policies and procedures.
To confidently and clearly communicate with the client and using aids where necessary.
To closely observe and monitor the client for seizure activity.
To drive the clients adapted vehicle when regularly accessing the community.
To assist the client with moving and handling, including the use of equipment such as hoists.
To show the client dignity and respect when providing personal care to the client.
To regularly refer to and follow care plans written by the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional person-centred care is provided.
Requirements Experience working with behaviour that challenges.
Previous experience working as a Support Worker with complex care clients, including clients with behaviours that challenge.
Flexibility to offer availability at short notice, including weekend shifts.
A manual, clean UK driver's licence is required as the client's adapted vehicle will need driving.
