Job summary We are looking for a flexible, motivated Band 5 Cardiac Physiologist to join our supportive, dynamic and friendly team working across our hospital sites in Oxford and Banbury and community settings across the county.
For the right candidate we will offer the opportunity to develop their clinical skills in several areas of Cardiac Physiology and welcome a self-directed career approach to your own professional progression.
Main duties of the job The department encourages active involvement with professional bodies, and has regular representation at council level with BHRS and BCIS.
We support Modernising Scientific Careers with a range of students from Apprentice to HSST level.
We are also a practical assessment centre for BSE and participate in the STP shortlisting and interviews for the National School for Healthcare Science.Professional development is encouraged at all levels and the department consistently offers support in attaining BHRS and/or BSE accreditation to further individuals professional and career progression.
As a department we have established links with the University and are actively involved in research.
We regularly perform live cases as part of a national and international training programme.
The successful post holder will join a large team of experienced and dynamic Cardiac Physiologists, Clinical Scientists, Healthcare Scientist Assistants and Arrhythmia & Complex Device Specialist Nurses delivering high quality, evidence based holistic care.To positively promote and implement the Cardiac Physiology vision.To promote a collaborative approach to care whilst supporting and facilitating the learning of others.

Job description Job responsibilities Undertake without immediate supervision, diagnostic cardiac physiology procedures , ECGs, event monitors.
Assist in the delivery of treatments for heart disease percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac pacemakers.
Provide training support to undergraduate and other junior staff programmes.
Single-handed or as part of a team, undertake clinical procedures on neonates, children and adults.
Actively participate in a range of clinical service areas Ambulatory Monitoring, ECG, Echocardiography, Exercise Testing, Cardiac Angiography, Theatre, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac Rhythm Management Person Specification Education and Professional Qua Essential oBSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent SCST member oEvidence of ongoing professional development Desirable oRCCP oILS/ALS Experience Essential oDemonstrable experience in a broad range of cardiac physiological procedures, such as ECG, Exercise Tolerance Testing supervision, Echocardiography, continuous ambulatory monitoring preparation and analysis, haemodynamic monitoring/recording during cardiac angiography and electrophysiology studies, pacemaker implant and follow-up.
Competent in 12-lead electrocardiographic procedures, cardiac stress test preparation/recording, continuous ambulatory monitoring preparation and analysis, haemodynamic monitoring/recording during cardiac angiography.
Desirable oExperience with complex PCI, congenital diagnostic and interventional catheterisation procedures.
oExperience in the implant and follow-up of implanted pacemaker systems.
