Job summary Undertake a range of diagnostic cardiac investigations at highly specialist cardiac physiologist level and provide expert, clinically accurate reports, adhering to local and national guidelines.
Provide training to all relevant members of the MDT in the delivery of routine and complex cardiac investigations.
To work closely with the consultant cardiologists, clinical cardiac physiology leads, advanced nurse practitioners and other medical colleagues in providing clinical leadership and input into service development.
To facilitate the efficient and effective management of resources within cardiac physiology.
To contribute to the strategic development and daily operational management of the Department.
To initiate and undertake audit within the specialist area and work collaboratively with research departments.
Ensure that the standards of the service delivered meet the national clinical standards and comply with the strategic aims of the Trust.
Clinical Practice Perform high quality cardiac investigations, in accordance with departmental protocols and national guidelines on adults and adolescents.
Work as part of a cohesive team across the Department.
Provide expert knowledge and skills in a range of cardiac investigations, communicating results across a multidisciplinary team.
To act as a clinical role model and resource to staff, and demonstrate a commitment to evidence based/best practice care and clinical excellence, in order to optimise quality of care.
Main duties of the job The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requires a clinically excellent Cardiac Physiologist to join one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country.
The Trust comprises of four hospitals, three in Oxford and one in Banbury and the Cardiac Physiology department works across all four sites and the rest of the county in community hubs.We are looking for a motivated Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist to join our supportive, dynamic, and friendly team.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate post graduate level of working via a continuous development portfolio and evidence of leadership, mentorship and specialist working within an area of Cardiac Physiology would be advantageous.The successful post holder will join a large team of experienced Cardiac Physiologists, Arrhythmia and Complex Device Nurse Practitioners.
The department encourages active involvement with professional bodies, and has regular representation at council level with BSE, BHRS and BCIS.We are a practical assessment centre for BSE and participate in the STP OSFA assessments for the National School of Healthcare Science.

Job description Job responsibilities To support the Head of Cardiac Physiology in all operational/managerial matters as required effective use of resources, management of cardiac physiology personnel.
In collaboration with the Band 7 group create, support and develop a dynamic cardiac physiology team with a unified vision for future planning and development of the department.
To implement and support quality initiatives within Cardiac Medicine, in collaborationwith the Band 7 group, by utilising effective use and monitoring of standards, auditing andevaluation of the echocardiography service in order to meet the needs of patients withinthis speciality.
To work with the Band 7 group to ensure procedures are in place to facilitate theachievement of Trust targets for cardiac medicine such as achieving diagnostic test waitingtimes and implementation of clinical governance frameworks.
In collaboration with the Head of Cardiac Physiology, lead the development and evaluation ofrelevant protocols, guidelines and procedures based on current evidence/research andfacilitate /support other staff to do the same.
To monitor activity within the clinical area whilst ensuring that staffing levels and skillmix meet clinical requirements.
To promote awareness and understanding in others of efficient resource utilisation througheducation and example.
In collaboration with the Band 7 group to ensure that all new staff has an appropriateinduction and orientation and assigned mentor.
