High performance starts with you.Purpose of the Role:Support the build, assembly, deployment and off car preparation of Heritage Formula 1 cars and associated support equipment, collaborating across multiple functions at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.
Principal Accountabilities: Ensuring that the day to day running of the Heritage team, equipment and infrastructure meets the standards required at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.
The role is purposefully varied and is a practical hands-on role that requires a level of mechanical / electrical / IT aptitude along with a willingness to overcome obstacles.
Supporting the build, preparation and track running of Heritage Formula 1 car assets and support equipment.Ownership and single point of contact for Heritage support equipment and infrastructure.Supporting the supply, servicing and extremely high presentation standards of the Heritage function.Ensuring that all Garage infrastructure is correctly installed and presented to the highest possible standards.Oversee Heritage team freight movements and secure loading in and out process.Ensure that the freight (land, sea and air) is correctly and safely loaded both at MTC and at Track.Ensure all loads meet the correct content, compliance and documentation for shipment.Utilise existing skills to maintain Heritage pit and garage equipment.Contributing to identifying opportunities to generate savings in overall cost of freight, operations and improving efficiency (Team responsibility).Occasional support to other operational areas of the business during busy periods.
The role may consist of unsociable hours often at short notice and will involve time away from home.Show a high level of detail to their work and be able to communicate effectively.
Should have experience of motorsport garage infrastructures and be able to demonstrate experience or show experience from other industries with reflecting skill sets.
Always Operate and maintain Health and Safety Guidelines and compliance both at and away from McLaren Technology centre.Always ensuring tasks are completed right first time and often to tight deadlines and in a pressurised environment both at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.Digitize all methodologies and processes, must be computer literate in stock control and inventory management.
Job requirementsKnowledge, Skills and Experience: Experience of working in a technical engineering motorsport function.
Ability to contribute to component fault diagnosis process.
Experience of delivering quality under tight and demanding deadlines with conflicting priorities.
Previous experience of race car support.
Process mapping and process improvement experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and digital systems to drive process.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking.
