Job overviewNational and Specialist CAMHS present an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly motivated and experienced specialist clinician to a full-time band 8a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist post within the multi-disciplinary Mental Health of Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) Team based at the Michael Rutter Centre.
The MHID Team is one of four streams within the Service for Complex Autism & Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorders (SCAAND).
SCAAND is an NHS England funded specialist Tier 4 service for children and young people with autism and complex mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the jobThe postholder will work as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist in the MHID multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities include:
Contributing to comprehensive MDT assessments.Providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions for children, young people, and parents/carers.Providing consultation, training, and support to local CAMHs clinicians and multi-agency networks.Providing supervision, line management, and support within the team.Supporting the psychological aspects of case formulation and planning.Leading on aspects of service development relevant to the post-holder's specialisms.Person specificationQualificationsDoctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent; Counselling psychologistRegistered with the HCPC as Practitioner PsychologistCompleted training in autism specific assessments (e.g.
ADOS-2, ADI-R)ExperienceWorked as a clinical specialist under supervision in child and adolescent neurodevelopmental CAMHS.Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with complex psychological needs.Understanding and KnowledgeKnowledge of specialized psychological assessments and interventions for children and young people with autism spectrum disorders.SkillsSkilled in administering psychometric and neuropsychological tests.Experience in providing consultation to professionals regarding children with neurodevelopmental conditions.AbilitiesAbility to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.The Trust is committed to providing services which embrace diversity and promote equality of opportunity.
