This role is pivotal inreducing hospital admissions of young people.
We provide Crisis support to young people who are experiencing a Mental Health Crisis.
It can be fast paced, so organisation skillsand being self-motivated are essential.
We provide evidence-based assessments and interventions using creative andpro-active approaches to engage young people.
Candidate will be able to travel independently around the locality.
TEWV has now launched the national 111 option 2 mental health line, and this has led to further investment to expand our teams offer.
So, our team will now provide support to young people who access support through this line.
Callers over the age of 16 will talk to a mental health advisor in the screening service which is provided by the Mental Health Charity Everyturn.
They provide low level emotional support and signposting to other services when necessary.
Callers under the age of 16 and for those callers 16-18 requiring a more in-depth discussion about their mental health will be transferred to the CAMHS Crisis Team.
A full mental health triage and risk assessment will be completed with the caller, to ensure appropriate level of care is offered.
Main duties of the job Candidates needs a calm, consistent approach when facing the most clinical challenging situations to deliver safe care to young people and their families/carers.
They will confidently lead the shift and direct junior staff.
They will make sound clinical decision in crisis situations to help reduce and manage the potential risk of harm.
You will engage effectively with young people, families and other professional so they receive right level of support.
To apply for this role, you will have a nursing registration and experience in mental health services and whilst having knowledge of child and adolescent mental health is desirable having the right values and attitude plus a desire to learn new skills is essential.
You will understand relevant legislation ( MHA, MCA, Children's Act), detailed understanding of Safeguarding, Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
As the team continues to develop you will be given the opportunity to influence and contribute to service development, providing a high degree of job satisfaction and personal progression.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.

Professional Nursing registration within Mental health or Learning Disabilities is essential.
Experience within an urgent mental health care setting is desirable.
Full training in conducting Crisis assessments, managing urgent care calls, supporting patients during a crisis and the use of our systems will be provided.
The North Yorkshire and York (CAMHS) Crisis Team is a locality wide team that provide a 24/7 service to young people and their families.
You will be expected to work shifts which will include Days, nights and Bank holidays (pro rata).

The successful applicant will conduct Crisis Mental Health assessment in acute/community setting.
You will do an assessment of the risks associated with the mental health problem, developing safety plans to reduce the risks and to support safe discharges.
You will conduct Telephone Triages for young people/family who contact the service via the NHS 111 option 2 line.
You will do Multi agency working and liaison with other professionals involved with the young person/family or who contact the service for advice or support.
You willcomplete formulations and support the safe transfer care when further longer-term mental health support is required.
You will develop crisis care plans which will support enhance crisis interventions delivered by the team.
You will be expected to work shifts patterns which cover 24/7 service provision covering NYY locality, our bases include York, Scarborough, and Ripon.
We currently have vacancies in our York and Scarborough base; however, you will be expected to travel around the locality/bases during your shift to meet the clinical demand because we function as a locality team.

You will be responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of harm, abuse, and neglect, including poor clinical practice, report all such occurrences and take all reasonable steps to protect the young person.
You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of children who may be at risk of harm.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council - RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only ) - RGN (If appropriate) Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent) Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent.
Must be achieved within 6 months Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months Experience Essential Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate Working in a multi-disciplinary team Quality improvement activities 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework) Supervising or assessing students on practice placement.
