About the role:Our client have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a CAD M&E Technician/Co-Ordinator who has experience within the Mechanical & Electrical sector to work alongside our engineering teams, assisting with detailed layouts, sections, elevations & full co-ordination of pipework/ductwork/electrical drawings which may also include some fabrication layouts & details.This role will provide the opportunity to work on some small to large commercial projects in London & around the UK.
Working in our South East London office or on various sites.
Hybrid working will be discussed after the completion of the probation period.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience in addition to a good company package.
The hours will generally be 45 hours a week (including a lunch break), with some overtime after the 6 months' probation.Reporting to:CAD Manager.Responsibilities:• To take the CAD drawing process from either the internal design team or Consultants basic MEP design layouts & produce accurate, well-presented Construction drawings through to an 'As Installed' status.• Experience in drafting all types of Mechanical & Electrical systems to a high standard in AutoCAD, often exceeding the original requirements of the project brief & design, also identifying where improvements can be made (for example with Electrical containment, HVAC ductwork, LTHW, CHWS, Domestic & Drainage piping, Plant/Switch rooms & builders-work layouts.
)• Interpret hand drawn sketches of layouts, changes to service routes from the engineering team & update the CAD drawings with little supervision.• Experience in doing site surveying at the start, during & the end of a project ensuring all the drawn information is kept up to date & correct.Qualities & skills required:• Be proficient & have a good working knowledge AutoCAD including Cad-Duct/MEP Fabrication (other CAD systems would be an advantage).• Adopt, work to, help expand & promote all relevant CAD standards.• Experience working in the building services environment & an understanding of Mechanical & Electrical engineering terminology (UK standards & specifications).• Excellent communication skills both written & verbal to liaise with engineers etc.• Excellent organisational skills (including adopting to the cloud-based document management system)• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (including Excel, Word etc)• Self-motivated & able to take responsibility.• Able to demonstrate initiative & a proactive approach to daily tasks.• Flexible attitude to work & hours.Benefits:• Workplace pension• Private Healthcare• Private Dental Care• Life Insurance• 24 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays• Training & development opportunities• Cycle to work scheme.MUST BE UK BASEDIf interested please submit your CV or give Phil a call on 07869 214 945
