Strategic Buyer Cheshire Up to £50,000 + Bonus + 4 day week + 1 day WFH RPS are exclusively partnered with a global tier 1 aerospace manufacturer who are looking to hire a Strategic Buyer, following a period of significant growth within the business.
ROLE PURPOSE: The procurement lead for allocated programmes/commodity.
Responsible for managing the BOM cost versus budget, BOM integrity, sourcing decisions and cost reduction opportunities, including change and risk mitigation.
Ensuring requirements are met on time, delivering a highly capable and cost-effective supply base, adhering to required quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the creation, updating and presentation of procurement slides / actions to the Procurement Manager and Programme / Project site reviews (Business review) Responsible for the Programme Supplier Sourcing in line with development Strategy.
Responsible for the Supplier Selection RFQ's.
Responsible for Programme Supplier Negotiation, including price, general terms and conditions.
Support Programme Supplier Transfers.
Responsible for initiating, implementing and negotiating parts onto supplier consignment/VMI.
Responsible for Programme Procurement Change Control, and where applicable Export Control and ITAR.
Responsible for the delivery / maintenance / Integrity of Programme BOM to Cost / Budget / while ensuring Item / Contract Item Data is updated and maintained.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years' experience as a strategic/commodity buyer or equivalent Ability to demonstrate cost saving initiatives Sound knowledge of procurement processes and strategies Proficient in contract management and supplier evaluation Strong leadership skills Dealing with ambiguity Proven experience of contractual and commercial negotiations If you meet the above criteria for this Strategic Buyer position, please apply today and we will be in touch to discuss your experience and the role in more detail.
