The Role and Department The Business Support Administrator role provides a fanatic opportunity for an experienced administrator looking for a new challenge within their career.
This is an integral role within the Estates and Facilities Directorate providing a wide range of comprehensive administrative support.
We are looking for a team player, who has a flexible attitude and the drive and enthusiasm to make a positive contribution to our team.
You will undertake a wide range of administrative duties to support the entire Estates and Facilities Directorate and wider-University, in delivering essential services and achieving their strategic objectives.
As part of a team, you will manage staff and student processes and systems, such as, but not limited to, issuing car parking permits, raising and receipting orders, supporting meetings, developing and maintaining records, ensuring that a professional service standard is maintained at all times.
The Estates and Facilities Directorate provides a range of essential services to Durham University and is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the infrastructure and building fabric of the various campuses.

What you need to demonstrate when you apply/Person Specification To be considered for this role, here are the skills/experience we're looking for: Essential Criteria Qualifications/Experience 1.
Five GCSEs at least Grade C or level four (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent experience.
2.
NVQ Level III in Business Administration (or equivalent) or significant, relevant experience of working in a busy office environment delivering front line administrative services.
3.
Experience of managing time, and prioritising high-volume varied workloads, to meet deadlines and working under pressure without compromising on quality, without close supervision.
4.
Experience of providing comprehensive support to meetings and committees, including collating agendas and papers, and taking and distributing minutes.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge 5.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
6.
Good digital skills including experience in using digital devices and apps including but not limited to the internet, email, digital communication tools, Microsoft 365 applications and digital booking systems.
7.
Ability to solve problems and resolve straightforward issues yourself and as part of a team.
8.
Ability to provide advice and guidance to a range of colleagues and customers.
9.
Proven organisational skills and the ability to use initiative in day-to-day tasks and forward planning.
10.
Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
11.
High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Liaise with staff across the University, to ensure that services are being delivered in an efficient and collaborative way.
• Liaise with external suppliers, contractors, specialists and service providers to plan the delivery of services and events.
• Provide comprehensive support for meetings, working groups and committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing and sending documents, drafting reports, taking minutes and following up on actions.
