Department overview: The Collateral and Inventory Management group is responsible for providing support to the business around collateral management and secured financing, rolling up to the CFO. This encompasses regulatory and industry change, collateral efficiency and concentration, liquidity management and funding, and equity and fixed income financing, all with an aim to provide a best in class client service.
Role description: The role is a varied and detailed cross product and cross divisional opportunity to optimise the settlement and financing opportunities across Rates. Work across Settlements, Middle Office and Front Office to identify, proactively address and resolve intraday issues related to Rates business (e.g. unmatched trades, failing to receives). Act as point person across teams to ensure appropriate actions are being taken and in critical timeframe to ensure settlement. Escalate to Front Office where opportunities exist to optimize the settlement and post trade management process, including fails management, Financing / Repo and cost reduction. Work with Product Control to tie in fails costs on P&L vs real world activity to ensure all fails and items are appropriately allocated and fails costs tie in with real world fails. Partner with Technology to define and address post trade gaps using internal systems and market vendor platforms. Create appropriate metrics / KPI to support, enhance and optimise processes, looking at behavioural trends, cost allocation and root cause analysis. Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required: Strong knowledge of post trade services, specifically across Settlements, Financing, Triparty and Repo. Strong communication and escalation skills, with the ability to explain issues to all levels including senior management, risk and senior business stakeholders. Able to work across multiple regions and divisions, including Front Office, Middle Office, Operations and Technology. Proactive with a control and risk management mind-set. Ownership and accountability for delivering process enhancements, efficiencies and embedding post trade best practice.
