The business generation manager (BGM) will be responsible supporting the Birmingham senior leadership team to drive successful market engagement and win new business.
The BGM will be responsible for supporting on the running our Birmingham key client programme, including positioning for key bids and framework renewals, targeting new clients and helping to retain our existing clients.Developing brand and communication activity to engage with the local Birmingham marketplace to drive pipeline generation and support our advisory practice on their go-to-market strategy that can be shared with the wider business and driven into the local Birmingham market.
This is a hands-on role but requires the right candidate to have the ability to see the bigger picture and lead strategically.
The role will work hand in hand with our Senior Campaign Manager and the other regional BGMs to ensure activity is aligned to our UK vision and the wider Business Generation community.Our Birmingham team are at the heart of the most complex and interesting programmes taking place in the region today, shaping the infrastructure and real estate investment that supports the regional and local economy.
This is a dynamic role, with lots of variety and opportunity to shape the direction of the business generation.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities to include, but not be limited to:Take responsibility for supporting the strategic hub lead and SMT for driving business generation across sectors, key accounts, and specific pursuits within BirminghamPipeline – ensure the teams in Birmingham develop an accurate and healthy sales pipeline.
Presenting intelligent analysis on the pipeline, directly to the cost centre leads.
Use the pipeline to challenge the level and pace of Business Generation activity in BirminghamBidding – for strategic opportunities, facilitate the development of the pursuit team and approach, support/manage bid teams and contribute to the written proposal, both content and presentation – setting a high standard and coaching teams where requiredMajor projects and programmes – support the Hub lead in Birmingham to identify strategic targets for Birmingham, develop strategic pursuit plans for those targets, and hold the key account teams accountable to ensure delivery of the plansKey clients – supporting key account plans and pursuits to drive activity and ensure priority accounts linked to Birmingham brand plan and profile raising, demonstrate progress and growthSectors – identifying the growth sectors for Birmingham, and identifying key market trends, translating these into campaigns and ensuring they are effectively delivered – working locally and in conjunction with the national team as appropriateBrand plan – developing our pipeline of brand raising activities to ensure we maintain a strong profile with both our current and target clients – establish forums, events that we must attend to maintain and continue our brand elevation both internally and externallyWorking with the Senior Campaign Manager to ensure maximisation of client facing campaigns to drive business generation across the Advisory business, with a focus on generating a strong pipeline and ensuring Advisory services are included in strategic bidsSupport and champion national Business Generation initiatives both within your own team and nationally as appropriateQualificationsEducation and ExperienceRecognised professional qualification or equivalent experience in the required skills areas, which may be a degree or qualification in marketing, communications or business administration.
