The role will report directly to our Development Director.
The aim of the role is to generate a portfolio of opportunities across UK and Ireland, enabling our customers to decarbonise their vessel operations across their regional network of corridors.

Wider NatPower Marine Team The role will interact with various teams across NatPower Marine and in addition to reporting into our Development Director, will work closely with our Commercial Directors with inputs into our Special Projects Director and Head of Marine Solutions.
The wider team is managing the development of marine shore power infrastructure projects and will be providing appropriate support and guidance.
The Role We are looking for a multi-skilled entrepreneurial candidate, having broad experience in business development, commercial and account management within the marine/ports sector.
This is an important appointment within NatPower Marine and the role will evolve as we grow as an organisation.
You will be expected to have a positive impact in Business Development with ports, terminals, and shipping lines in your region.
You will be looking after the UK and Irish market and will take full ownership of the end-to-end client relationship, from identifying the opportunity through to finalising and delivering the contract.
Assisting and supporting the Leadership Team in securing new opportunities will be dominant in the beginning (e.g.
6-12 months), with the immediate focus on identifying new leads, creating new opportunities through new and existing customers.
The role will also require account management of existing clients.
The role requires travel across UK and Ireland for meetings with ports, terminals and shipping lines in the region including for events and key stakeholders.
We expect the successful candidate to have: Key responsibilities: Broad understanding of the global marine industry and strong knowledge in the ports and terminal sector in the UK and Ireland.
Knowledge of the main players in ports and terminals with broad understanding of their commercial and business strategies in the region.
Interest and passion for marine and/or renewable energy and decarbonation.
Exceptional customer relationship skills Effective and persuasive communicator with strong presentation skills and ability to influence decision makers.
Ability to initiate, develop and nurture relationships with customers at all levels of the organisation including C-Suite.
Experience of successful client management and track record of client retention.
Collaborative approach, ability to identify strategic partnerships and joint opportunities.
Experience with using CRM tools and Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel.
Role Accountabilities Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships and new products and services.
Develop new clients (ports and shipping operators) through to contract completion and account manage existing customers.
Work proactively with other teams in area of financing, engineering, environment and IT.
Willingness to present and participate in discussions with top management of the company.
Coordinate and proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders in the marine industry.
Account coordination, general business development activities with large international organisations within the maritime and ports sector.
Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
Coordinate and submit tenders.
Management of the sales pipeline and sales forecasting through CRM.
Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends.
Possessing a strong understanding of the company's products and services, the competition in the industry and positioning.
Collaborate with the wider business development team to share potential leads and to meet the requirements of the end customer.
Required Knowledge and experience Essentials: 5+ years' experience in the Marine sector (ports and terminals) or aligned industry.
A flexible attitude to work and the ability to travel across the UK.
Appreciation of the ports and terminals sector strategies and operations, their development strategies, costs structures and decarbonisation strategies and opportunities for energy transition in the sector.
Good understanding of the global marine industry.
Strong communication skills.
Strong presentation skills and ability to pitch at C-Suite level.
Desirable: Broad understating of both transition to electrification (shore power and sustainably propelled ships) and general trends for decarbonisation within the sector.
Renewable energy project development and/or experience in maritime sector is a plus.
Experience in supporting multiple projects.
