The Role: The role of Business Development Manager presents an exciting opportunity to join a highly renowned Wealth Management business.
This is a key hire and will be integral to the success of the DFM business.
We are looking for an individual with the ambition and discipline to deliver consistent results, provide our clients with exemplary service and ultimately to drive new revenue growth.
The successful candidate will be expected to research and identify new business opportunities while also building and maintaining a strong understanding of our investment proposition, the competitor landscape, the regulatory landscape and general IFA market.
Working closely with our Investment, Sustainability and Marketing teams, you will be expected to directly contribute to sales targets.
This will be through supporting the Sales Director and current client base as well as through building and delivering a sales strategy for your own panel of accounts.
You will be expected to conduct face-to-face and remote meetings, lead presentations at events, contribute to marketing efforts, and generally support the wider team.
Responsibilities will include (but won't be limited to): Maintaining, servicing and developing strong relationships with existing clients alongside the Sales Director and wider team.
Pro-actively building new intermediary relationships and developing a panel of revenue generating accounts, including identifying and cultivating prospects and generating new business leads.
Building and maintaining in-depth knowledge of EQ's products and services; effectively articulating the firm's value proposition in the marketplace through meetings, presentations, product campaigns, road shows, and conferences.
Developing a knowledge of the national and networks market, building relationships with key decision markers as well as building relationships where required with third parties including but not limited to platforms, asset managers, risk profilers.
Achieving a high level of sales activity and progress with prospects based on meetings, events and client interaction & leading client meetings from introductory stages through to investment.
Maintaining internal Systems & Infrastructure; Maintain CRM system on contact data & activity.
Supporting the Marketing team; looking for opportunities to better our collateral and digital marketing.
Preparing any required Due Diligence requests for firms who have expressed interest in the MPS proposition.
Knowledge and experience: C. 3-5 years' experience in business development in the financial intermediary market, preferably within asset or wealth management.
A self-starter that demonstrates enthusiasm and commercial acumen.
Driven and self-motivated with a desire to win.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, with strong communication and presentation skills Ability to manage relationships effectively and collaborate with teammates to achieve a common purpose.
Experience of working to tight deadlines and consistent quality output is essential.
Proven knowledge of the broader financial advice marketplace, an understanding of different adviser propositions, their processes and the key drivers for success.
A sound understanding of multi-asset MPS investment solutions both from a technical and marketplace perspective.
Within sustainability desirable but not essential.
Proven track record of winning new business and delivering growth in revenue and profitability, achieving goals and sales targets.
Previous experience selling outsourced investment solutions including bespoke, MPS and Multi-Asset to the IFA market desirable though not essential Entrepreneurial spirit, adopting a small business mentality – 'we're all in this together'.
Ready to help team members with any task.
IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft suite and CRM
