An exciting opportunity in our hedge fund platform to support the development of the Asset Management Team.
This person will be an ambassador for the firm and must be an experienced Hedge Fund Strategies researcher with experience in business development roles.
The Responsibilities: Source and Build Partner Fund Pipeline Proactively identify and source new Partner Fund prospects by leveraging networks, targeting high-potential PM/team moves, and building relationships with banks, recruiters, and other external sources.
Develop and manage a robust pipeline of potential Partner Fund Portfolio Manager candidates, ensuring a consistent flow of high-quality opportunities.
Due Diligence and Candidate Assessment Lead the due diligence process, analysing Partner Fund candidates' backgrounds, strategies, risk management practices, and track records.
Evaluate each candidate's potential to raise external capital, engaging with day-1 investors to assess interest.
Support the Partner Fund in: Manage the onboarding process for selected Partner Fund candidates, supporting deal negotiations, facilitating documentation (including strategy and risk profiling), and ensuring smooth integration.
Assist in early-stage fundraising for Partner Funds by leveraging your network to support capital raising efforts and foster relationships with suitable allocators and investors, ensuring alignment with the fund's goals.
Identify new business opportunities, focusing on sourcing PM/team moves, building growth pipelines, and creating strategic presentations.
Represent the firm externally, cultivating relationships and acting as a trusted partner, while ensuring all business development activities adhere to risk, regulatory, and compliance standards.
About you: Strong knowledge of financial markets in a similar role, ideally at another hedge fund, seeding firm or allocator role (7 years + experience) Experience leading the due diligence of portfolio managers and investment strategies and providing recommendations at Investment Committee level.
Strong track record of sourcing and diligence of successful emerging managers across Long short equity, event and credit strategies a must Existing relationships with emerging investment managers and PMs as well as (potential) investors and consulting firms who allocated to Hedge Funds.
Experience in portfolio management, research and trading a plus Strategic thinker able to identify threats/opportunities to the business and react accordingly Driven personality with high determination, integrity, openness and an entrepreneurial spirit Intellectual drive, ability to think about big issues, what moves markets, what inspires people Strong communicator with ability to present with high integrity, credibility and clarity Ability to quickly understand complex concepts/fund structures Strong quantitative and presentation skills
