The Business Development Manager for Morrison Data Services will focus on winning new business and developing new products and services for the sectors served by the MGS (M Group Services) Energy Retail Division.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new leads that will deliver the growth required, developing client relationships and subsequent preparation and delivery of both pre-qualification and tender documents.
As a member of the team, they will support the delivery of the Sales & Strategy objectives: Win new contracts with new customers on advantageous terms Develop new products and services to meet the needs of our markets Increase the pipeline of addressable opportunities within our markets Additionally, support the renewal and extension of existing contracts on advantageous terms They will need to be comfortable with tight deadlines and pressures of working in a business development environment, as well as highs and lows of wins and the occasional near miss.
This role is remote (within the UK) however some travel will be required.
What youll be doing: Build solid relationships with customers, vendors, distributors, partners as well as internal stakeholders Develop in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities Support marketing efforts to expand the profile and reach of the company and its brands Research emerging trends and recommending new company offerings to satisfy customers' needs Build cross-functional teams to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth Build solid relationships with customers, vendors, distributors, partners as well as internal stakeholders Work closely with the wider S&S; (Sales & Strategy) team to deliver growth, requests for proposals or formal tender processes Ensure that all stages of bids remain on target, to deliver expected benefits with maximum possible margins Ensure bids are submitted in a timely manner, ensuring that each bid meets company requirements and client specifications Build market knowledge across areas of regulation, trends, new technologies and competitor activity Identify new services and products that meet the evolving needs of our customers Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and stay up to date with new trends Research and identify new markets Identify and maintain a pipeline of opportunities and lead the business development process for the Energy Retail businesses Work closely with the commercial and account management functions to identify opportunities to increase the value of contracts, either through increased volume or scope of services What we need from you: At least 2-3 years' experience within a Business Development role.
Knowledge or previous experience within the utilities sector is an advantage.
Fantastic presentation skills Proven record of sales growth Ability to communicate accessibly and concisely about product or service to outsiders A minimum of five years responsibility with quantifiable results in customer-facing roles (e.g.
