Role and responsibilities The role of the BDM is to proactively generate new sales opportunities through their own contacts, networking and prospecting activities, as well as nurture an existing pipeline.
The role calls for excellent communication and presentation skills, high energy, strong self-discipline as well as sound business understanding of the financial adviser market and the role of technology.
Key responsibilities include: Managing the sales process from initial contact through to contract negotiation.
Building and managing a pipeline of opportunities, responding to incoming sales enquiries.
Progressing initial enquiries into qualified sales opportunities with pro-active follow-up and conversion to online/onsite meetings with key decision makers.
Presenting the full range of software solutions, online and in person, often with groups of people ranging from administrators to C-suite contacts.
Taking a consultative approach to identifying needs, building a business case for implementing them vs alternative options.
Closing opportunities Reporting to, and working closely with, the Business Development Director and other members of the senior management team on sales activity, maintaining comprehensive records in our Pipedrive CRM.
Core qualities and competencies Self-starter mentality, ambitious and hungry to achieve and go beyond targets.
3 years minimum experience in sales in a technology or financial services role.
Be capable of managing full sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiations.
Able to produce and deliver engaging presentations to small or large groups.
A team player who works collaboratively with colleagues.
Understanding of financial services and or financial investment markets.
Well educated and articulate, with strong attention to detail.
Must be able to demonstrate success in previous sales roles.
