Job Title: Business Development Director Offshore and Energy Location: UK, remote Who are we recruiting for?
We are recruiting for a leading independent consultancy known for its extensive range of specialist services in marine and offshore technical projects.
The consultancy works with energy companies, offshore and marine contractors, underwriters, insurance brokers, and many others, delivering tailor-made project risk mitigation, engineering, and incident investigation services.
What will you be doing?
As the Business Development Director, you will: Support the board of directors in setting and achieving targets for the development of the Offshore and Energy business.
Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Build and nurture relationships with customers, suppliers, partners, and vendors.
Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts to enhance successful strategies and revamp less effective ones.
Manage key client relationships and strive to build new ones.
Expand the company's profile and reach within the industry.
Lead the marketing and business development team while supporting the technical team.
Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships to increase lead generation and market share.
Build cross-functional teams to guide and sustain long-term growth.
Track emerging markets and trends, identifying new opportunities.
Foster an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company.
Identify and recommend new services.
Propose and develop strategic partnerships.
Help shape the company's long-term objectives and determine plans to achieve them.
Identify sponsorship opportunities, including nonprofit engagement.
Arrange and conduct webinars and presentations to raise the brand profile.
Support responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers.
Are you the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate will have: Proven knowledge and experience in consultancy services within the offshore wind sector.
Board level experience.
Big-picture thinking capabilities.
Strong leadership, business development, and mentoring skills.
Preferably a marine or technical engineering background.
Financial and business acumen.
Lead generation and relationship management experience.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
The ability to communicate clearly about services to all stakeholders.
