Salary: £40,000 – 50,000 per annum depending on experience (Full time), plus a bonus opportunity
Location: Russell Publishing operates a hybrid working policy with the ability to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Summary: Russell Publishing is looking to expand our business development/sales team with experienced individuals who have operated at a senior level either as a Senior Business Development Manager or Business Development Director within a B2B media/publishing/events environment.
Our business development/sales team is responsible for identifying and developing strong relationships with new and existing clients to generate revenue through sales of print, digital, event, and conference products.
Applicants must demonstrate their individual success and achievements in generating revenue for both print and digital products.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
Your experience must demonstrate your ability to connect and build effective relationships with clients through cold-calling, follow-up of incoming leads, and researching potential new opportunities.
UK and International travel to visit clients and attend external industry events is required.
You will need to be self-motivated, driven with initiative, and able to apply strategies to deliver results while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to fulfill the needs of the business.
The role: Proactively develop new business to expand client base and increase salesIdentify and develop relationships with potential new clients through researchGain a sound understanding of the core subject matter and provide insight and market feedback to the wider teamLead Generation: Sales prospecting through canvassing of clients across competitive media channelsInitiate contact with prospective customers found through prospecting; facilitate and set up meetings via teams or at external conferences and events.Business Development: Developing an understanding of clients and the market.Maintaining high levels of scheduled sales calls, visits, and client meetings.Issuing campaign performance reports to clients.Attending relevant RPL or external exhibitions/conferences – international travel may be requiredSponsorship and Delegate Sales: Gaining a sound understanding of an event's core subject matter.Ability to research prospects and build a comprehensive sales pipeline.Create bespoke campaign proposals to support client needs.Contact follow-up with previous event attendees and prospective attendees generated through marketing efforts.General: Recording all client information and following processes within CRM.Consistently meet and exceed revenue targets on your allocated brand.Work closely and collaborate within internal teams to fulfill client campaigns.Research relevant upcoming industry events.Maintain and further develop strong working relationships with new and existing clients.Attendance at relevant exhibitions/conferences with international travel.On-site duties at Russell Publishing events and conferences.Any other duties which may reasonably be required.Key skills and experience: 5 years' experience in business development/sales or publishing, media, sponsorship, or delegate sales is essentialExcellent IT skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Knowledge and use of CRMs.Communication (written & verbal) – accuracy and professionalism.Professional attitude and integrityNetworking and building effective relationshipsCompany Benefits: We are committed to ensuring everyone feels included, valued, and appreciated, and we offer a supportive, flexible working environment, with amazing opportunities for personal and professional development.
