Our client works with public and private sector organisations on projects delivering economic and social development, ameliorating climate change, and navigating technological disruption.
The client requires a Business Analyst to support a growing portfolio of nature-based solutions work.
This particular project is funded by a 2-year grant by a European foundation and is focused on supporting local communities in East Africa to engage in the carbon markets (mostly Kenya and Tanzania but includes Uganda and Rwanda to a lesser extent).
The project aims to provide information about carbon markets to local communities, help them develop projects, engage in carbon markets and negotiate fair deals.
The role focuses on supporting local communities to offer technical support to engage in carbon markets and negotiate fair deals.
The project is designed to ensure that benefits from carbon deals go directly to the communities (rather than intermediaries taking a portion).
Role and Responsibilities Role: Analyst Direct Report: Project Manager Candidates required: One Key deliverables Supporting carbon expert and broader team by conducting research, analysing data, creating presentations, doing financial modelling and assisting with stakeholder interactions.
Strong focus on gathering information, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis and providing insights to support the carbon expert.
Contribute to project planning, timelines and deliverables, ensuring smooth project execution.
Will serve as leverage to the London-based carbon expert.
Requirements Experience required 1-3 years of management consulting or finance sector experience Strong analytical experience Technical requirements Advanced skills in Excel and Powerpoint Soft skills Excellent verbal and written communicator Strong overall consulting and problem solving tool kit Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment across multiple geographies Other requirements Familiarity with or interest in learning about the carbon markets and climate space.
