You'll be joining a leading independent, not-for-profit research institute that's committed to recruiting talented people like you, progressing your career and giving you the support you need to thrive at UKCEH.Your main responsibilities will include: Supervise and develop a team of building services staff, ensuring high performance and professional growthOversee routine and preventive maintenance activities to ensure all facilities are in optimal conditionAssist in planning and executing building services projects, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations.Ensure all building services activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulationsManage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to achieve operational goalsAssist in preparing and managing budgets for building services operations, ensuring cost-effective solutionsLiaise with internal and external stakeholders to address building services needs and issuesSupport and implement sustainable practices within building services to minimize environmental impactCoordinate and oversee the work of external contractors, ensuring they meet quality standards, comply with safety regulations, and deliver services on time and within budgetReview and analyse servicing reports to identify trends, address issues, and ensure continuous improvement in building servicesAssist in managing contracts with external service providers to ensure compliance with terms and conditionsFor the role of Building Services Managerwe're looking for somebody who has:Degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field or relevant experience Experience in building services management, with experience in a supervisory roleRelevant professional certifications (e.g., Facilities Management Certification) are desirableSolid understanding of building services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systemsAbility to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience in budget preparation and financial managementProven experience in managing contractors to ensure high-quality service deliveryAbility to review and interpret servicing reports to drive improvementsExperience in managing contracts and coordinating with external contractorsIf we've just described you, we'd love to hear from you.
