We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Business to join our committed and enthusiastic team at Brockenhurst College from January 2025 on a part-time (0.7 full time equivalent), fixed-term basis until August 2025.
In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £31,000 to £41,217 per annum pro rata DOE .
(Unqualified teachers £24,547 to £31,000 pro rata per annum.)

Business is a popular subject at the College and the department offers a range of courses: A level Business, A level Economics, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business, BTEC Level 3 Enterprise and Entrepreneurship and the OCR Level 2 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Business.
We welcome applications from experienced teachers from Sixth Form Colleges, Schools and FE Colleges, and graduates wishing to train to become a teacher through our in-house teacher training programme.
About the role: As our Lecturer in Business, you will improve the learning experience and achievement of learners through excellent teaching & learning on our business programmes.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Business will include: Teaching on courses as agreed with the Head of Curriculum Acting as a Course Manager, when requested Preparing and marking student work, monitoring progress towards individual targets, keeping records and providing timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers Working closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students Paying due attention to the principles of inclusive learning Contributing to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum Contributing to the teaching/learning resource bank for the relevant subject/course Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course Developing and maintaining effective external links related to the delivery of the subject/course and representing the College at relevant meetings Organising and participating in relevant visits, field trips, etc Attending and participating to relevant meetings, including Enrolment/Open Events and Parents' Evening Advising and assisting the Head of Department and other team members in all matters related to the delivery of subject specialisms Participating, as a team member, in the development of teaching methods and strategies toward an ethos of continuous improvement Contributing to the self-assessment process and taking responsibility for relevant actions and targets in the development plan for the curriculum area Participating in the College's Lesson Observation Scheme Undertaking professional development and training to contribute to individual and College development As our Lecturer in Business, you'll ideally have: A degree level or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area An appropriate teacher training qualification (or working towards this) A full driving licence A record of continuous professional and career development High-quality teaching experience The ability to manage learners and learning effectively Experience in using collaborative teaching methods Knowledge and understanding of current developments in the relevant curriculum area Knowledge of appropriate health and safety requirements Excellent teaching skills and a commitment to continuous development Evidence of working towards and achieving personal targets Excellent administrative skills Benefits: 37 days leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff) Access to our Employee Assistance Programme provided externally to the College.
