Breast Imaging Secretary

Job summary The post holder is required to deliver a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team.
The emphasis of this role is to provide secretarial support to the Director of Breast Screening, the clinical Radiology Lead, the Breast Radiologist group and the provision of general secretarial support to the Breast Imaging department as a whole.
This will involve some patient waiting list management for a speciality, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and/or typing correspondence as appropriate and liaising with the Breast Care Nurses to assist with patient appointments.
Main duties of the job To support the Breast senior clinical team and specialty team in the delivery of waiting list management.
To identify gaps in service provision on the Consultant rota and escalate these issues appropriately.
Responsibility for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly.
The post holder will prioritise and plan workload and organise own time, adjust clinic times as necessary and ensure that clinic preparation has been carried out.
Liaising with the clinical team to arrange, cancel or alter clinical commitments to contribute to the smooth running of the department.
To assist in diary management for the Director of Breast Screening and the Radiology clinical lead.
To generate from a template and provide housekeeping for the Consultant rota, their annual leave and other commitments.
Escalating any gaps and working closely to assist the Radiology clinical lead with maintenance of the rota.
To identify gaps in service provision on the Consultant rota and escalate these issues appropriately.
To attend various meetings and provide relevant agenda and minutes.

Effective communication skills both written and verbal Ability to work in a demanding / pressurised environment Accuracy and attention to detail Confident and remain calm under pressure
