Brand Creative are the storytellers of the Nike brand. In the Digital Studio we leverage our ecosystem, connection to culture and ability to amplify the athlete mindset to craft powerful and meaningful stories that inspire, enable and engage athletes. WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH You, a midweight art director, will report directly into the Senior Manager, Digital Creative, London UK & Ireland. You'll also work day-to-day with a talented team – a producer + writer + social handle specialist - to execute and deliver work aligned through the London UK & Ireland marketing team. You'll also collaborate very closely with other teams across our London UK & Ireland marketing organisation; from football, running, training and sportswear brand teams to retail and communications. Working with our network of agencies, freelancers, producers and creators, you'll partner with them to craft work that delivers on our brand vision, in our Nike-only visual language. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for a talented, digital conceptual art director with hands-on experience in crafting best-in-class design and creative thinking. You will have a passion for sport, youth culture, creativity, and an ability to uncover stories that will inspire the next generation to move, with a passion for innovation and pushing creative boundaries. Your experiences should have a mix of a few disciplines, from photo direction to understanding and working against a narrative, to graphic design, and moving image. You are able to concept and execute your creative thinking, turning ideas into real-world impact. You'll be comfortable presenting to your team, to the wider marketing organisation, and to your EMEA and global counterparts. You'll need to know the latest across all key social platforms and are passionate and connected to the creative industry – looking at the latest trends across creative, culture and technology. This ever-expanding knowledge, network and interest both inspires and drives your creative thinking. Essential requirements: Experience in art direction and/or design, with ideally a strong focus on consumer brands. This will include managing more than one project at once, concepting and presenting work, all the way to IRL execution, and confidently representing your craft cross-functionally. Experience working on end-to-end marketing and creative campaigns, including product launches. Great interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills. Proven exceptional ability to apply and perform design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, colour theory, use of texture, art direction, visual presentation development and layout. Experience directing photography, briefing and guiding creative partners and external agencies. Advanced knowledge of latest design computer software. Knowledge and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general, and in graphic design, fashion, and athletics specifically. You must have consumer knowledge in the city and across EMEA, specifically against youth culture. Experience of collaborating effectively with other functions, departments and external stakeholders – the ability to embrace change when not directly owning key workstreams. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON The purpose of the Brand Creative Digital Studio is to fuel our wider Nike ecosystem with brilliant creative. You will be working on marketing and creative briefs that deliver against our Nike offence. With a focus on powering our NikeLondon social and digital ecosystem, you'll also work with our EMEA and Global partners to fuel them with industry-leading ideas and stories.
You will primarily obsess our @nikeLondon channel, concepting and executing ideas that bring our Nikeoffenseto life through a London youth culture & sport lens.
You'll deliver ideas – from small, specific concepts to larger multi-market storytelling.
You will own the look and feel, layout, visual language, and craft of the storytelling, collaborating with your direct team and cross-functionally across each project. Central to this will be navigating a matrixed organisation with multiple stakeholders, while communicating design and art direction concepts to internal audiences and external partners.
You'll be required to deliver high-quality, innovative conceptual thinking at every stage of the creative process, serving up an attention to detail and knowledge of our platforms, sport and youth culture.
You'll support the identification and gathering of consumer and platform insights, anchored in sports and youth culture, to allow us to better serve athletes on the ground in London and UK & Ireland – and feeding these insights back to EMEA/Global to further support our creative and strategic thinking across key campaigns.
Application deadline: 22nd of November'24. Internal title: Specialist II, Brand Creative, Digital Art Direction, London, UK & Ireland.
Relocation: No.
