Brilliantin Recruitment is partnering with a leading construction company that is currently seeking a Bid Manager to join their Procurement team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is a hybrid role that requires working 1-2 days per week at the head office, with occasional travel to other sites.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing the Selection Questionnaire (SQ) and Invitation to Tender (ITT) processes, as well as producing high-quality submissions.
Duties & Responsibilities Project manage the SQ and ITT processes to meet client deadlines.
Develop and agree on strategies and unique selling points to win individual bids by employing creative thinking and understanding each client's requirements.
Collaborate proactively with the business and supply chain to gather information necessary for producing exceptional written SQ and tender responses.
Research and create responses that accurately reflect the needs of each client.
Manage launch and mid-bid review meetings.
Demonstrate commercial understanding and liaise with estimators.
Maintain excellent relationships with clients and consultants throughout the bidding process.
Attend bidder conferences and dialogue sessions as required.
Review completed bids before submission.
Manage all post-tender clarifications in line with the client's timelines.
Prepare, manage, attend, and support site visits related to each tender opportunity to meet client requirements.
Work with senior management to identify the interview team and brief them on the opportunity and submission.
Mentor and manage junior team members, including conducting one-to-ones and appraisals.
Support social value initiatives, which may include one day of volunteering per year and involvement in fundraising activities.
What You Will Need Essential Criteria: Significant experience in bid writing and tender management.
Leadership and project management experience.
Proficiency in IT, especially in Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail.
Ability to engage completely with employees at all levels.
Desirable Criteria: Professional qualifications and/or a graduate degree.
A good understanding of the social housing sector, including responsive repairs, voids, capital works, and retrofit/decarbonization processes.
Confidence and ability to deliver high-quality presentations to customers.
Experience with InDesign.
Proofreading or copy editing experience.
