GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school in Barnsley .

About the Role As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant , you will be a key figure in supporting students with behavioural needs.
You will provide one-on-one and group support to help students manage their behaviour, develop and implement behaviour management strategies, and work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
Your role will also involve supporting students in developing social skills and emotional resilience, monitoring and recording their progress and behaviour, and liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Responsibilities of Behaviour Teaching Assistant Support Teachers: Work closely with teachers and support staff to create tailored behaviour plans that address the specific needs of each student.
Regularly review and adjust these plans to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
One-on-One and Group Interventions: Offer individual and small group interventions to help students manage their behaviour.
Use evidence-based strategies to support students in developing positive behaviours and overcoming challenges.
Teach Self-Regulation Techniques: Teach and reinforce self-regulation techniques, helping students to understand and manage their emotions and behaviours.
Encourage positive interactions and model appropriate behaviour.
Classroom Support: Work alongside classroom teachers to implement behaviour management strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support teachers in addressing behavioural issues and fostering a culture of respect and cooperation.
Monitor Progress: Maintain detailed records of students' behaviour, progress, and any interventions used.
Provide regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties to ensure a coordinated approach to each student's development.
Liaise with External Agencies: Ensure that students receive comprehensive support by collaborating with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of students and their families.
Requirements of Behaviour Teaching Assistant Previous experience as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
A genuine passion for supporting students with behavioural needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management are desirable.
