Behaviour Mentor  Location: Lichfield, UK Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30pm Contract: Temporary (opportunities to go perm) Weekly Salary: £425 to £450 About the School The school is an Ofsted-rated Outstanding SEN school in Lichfield, dedicated to providing an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment for children and young people aged 5 to 16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Teaching Personnel are now seeking an exceptional Behaviour Mentor to join our team and help our students thrive.
Position Overview As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Your role will involve working one-on-one or with small groups to guide students in understanding and managing their emotions and behaviours, enhancing their social skills, and achieving personal growth.

Key Responsibilities Provide Behavioural Support: Help students to manage their emotions and behaviours, using positive reinforcement and therapeutic techniques to encourage self-regulation and appropriate responses.
Build Relationships: Establish trusting and respectful relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and source of support for their personal and social development.
Develop Social Skills: Facilitate small group sessions focused on developing interpersonal skills, empathy, and effective communication.
Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the SENCO to implement individualized strategies and share insights on student progress.
Monitor Progress: Track behavioural improvements and keep detailed records of student interactions, ensuring clear communication with staff and parents.
Promote a Safe Environment: Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment where all students feel respected and valued.
About You To succeed in this role, you should have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, and an understanding of the challenges they face.
Patience, empathy, and resilience are essential, along with a genuine commitment to the well-being and development of every student.
Qualifications & Skills Required Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or SEMH setting Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective behaviour management strategies Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support, mental health, or education are desirable but not essential Ability to remain calm, resilient, and flexible in challenging situations Must have a Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) How to Apply If you are passionate about making a difference and believe you have the skills to help our students reach their potential, we would love to hear from you.
