Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our partnership school in Newport as a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor for a pupil in year 2.
This rewarding role focuses on supporting a pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), who can display some behavioural challenges within the mainstream classroom.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the class teacher and other teaching staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Your support will help the pupil develop both academically and socially, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Key Requirements: Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) Hold a Child-Only DBS certificate, registered on the Update System Provide two professional references from the past 24 months Demonstrate resilience and a strong ability to manage challenging behaviour Experience working with children with ALN in a professional setting is beneficial, but we welcome applications from those with personal experience or a willingness to learn and grow in this area.
Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ALN within the mainstream classroom Engage the pupil in activities, ensuring they stay focused and involved in their learning Foster a positive and supportive environment to help the pupil grow emotionally and academically Build meaningful, trusting relationships with the pupil, their peers, staff, and parents Offer social and emotional support as needed, contributing to a well-rounded approach to the pupil's development Adhere to safeguarding and protection policies at all times Work collaboratively with teachers and fellow teaching assistants to support the pupil's needs Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to address evolving challenges and provide effective solutions Job Title: 1:1 Behaviour Mentor Location: Newport Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Pay: Minimum £12.90 per hour Start Date: January 2025 If you're ready to make a lasting impact in a supportive and inclusive environment, apply today to join our dynamic team in Newport!
