Behaviour Mentor U-Educate are currently looking for a Behaviour Mentor for a SEMH Secondary School based in Basingstoke, RG22.
The school are looking for the right candidate who is available immediately for an immediate start.
The Behaviour Mentor will work with a range of pupils, but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages including; Challenging behaviour, Children with a statement of special educational needs; Children with special or medical needs.
For Behaviour Mentor roles we will require you to have experience in this type of role from 1:1 mentoring/ support etc..
Your responsibilities will include: To devise, implement and evaluate specialised programmes of work, which encourage and promote a pupil's social emotional and behavioural development.
To work with teaching staff and/or other support staff in devising and implementing individual learning plans to promote pupils' academic, social, emotional and behavioural development.
To plan and facilitate structured games and activities, to support pupils to make appropriate use of unstructured times.
To plan and draw up approaches to use and to support pupils both individually and within a group.
To work with individuals & groups both within and outside the classroom setting.
To observe and monitor pupil progress, adapting an agreed approach to meet particular needs, recording and maintaining records of pupils' development and progress.
Work effectively and collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external support as required to ensure effective support provision for all our pupils.
Help plan the reintegration of students after fixed term exclusion.
Monitor students' progress before, during and after intervention to measure the impact of the intervention strategy on progress Maintain a record of evaluations as evidence of effective practice, support and guidance Set up and run circle time sessions and anger management groups where necessary.
Requirements Experience of working as a learning mentor / behaviour support assistant to support children with challenging behaviour Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children Up to date Safeguarding Training (You can undertake a free course with U-educate if you have not got a safeguarding certificate dated within the last 12 months) We are very keen to speak with candidates who are interested in this role and feel that they meet the requirements stated above.
