Job summary Pelc is looking for an experienced individual to work as an Urgent Treatment Centre Bank Driver, providing excellent patient care service.As a Bank Driver, you will transport GPs to and from patient's homes typically when they are unable to see their unusual clinician.
This is not an emergency service and you will need to follow all the normal rules of the road.
It will be a part of your role to ensure the safety of our clinicians and medical equipment, so you may be asked to escort them to the patient's front door.
You will also be expected to keep vehicles appropriately maintained , and at times you will need to communicate with the public, as well as the team back at base.Where response levels are exceptional we may close the post before the specified date, therefore early application is recommended.

Job description Job responsibilities Main Duties and Responsibilities Ensure vehicle checks are carried on a shift by shift basis to ensure the safety of GP, self and members of the general public.
To prepare for the shift by getting all equipment ready and taking it to the vehicle then to wait in the vehicle ready for the doctor at headquarters or hospital site.
At the end of each shift to ensure that all equipment has been removed from the vehicle, that the vehicles are completely clear of all items on the drivers indemnity sheet and signed out.
To ensure that vehicle is parked neatly in an assigned PELC bay only.
Is available to work shifts in accordance with the drivers rota in line with working time regulations.
The vehicle is to be returned with no less than a half a tank of fuel and if this has not been possible due to operational pressures then to notify the Administrator/Manger before the end of the shift.
To liaise with the in real time upon arrival at visits and to keep a paper record of the Adastra case number, postcode and breach time.
Visits are to be done in breach time order unless indicated otherwise by a clinician in which case the Administrator/Manger will be notified before departure.Provide a support service to other business colleagues on an as required basis to minimise `single working` and ensure personal safety of self and colleagues at all times.
Complete timesheets, vehicle indemnity log sheets and log books wherever necessary, reporting any discrepancies/actions required to the Administrator/Manger .
To complete relevant paper based and ensure electronic information system data is accurately updated associated with the passing and completing of all calls including home visit log sheets.
Specifically:To advise the Administrator/Manger on arrival at the beginning of shift.To confirm status of visits that may have been issued to previous shift.To advise the dispatcher of any issues relating to how your vehicle has been left by the previous shift.To receive and accurately record details of the patients presenting symptoms issued by the dispatchers.To attend visits as directed by the dispatchers across the whole of the PELC area.To highlight priority calls to the duty visiting nurse, as indicted by computer system or by the dispatchers.To liaise with the dispatchers on arrival at visits to allow the visiting service across PELC to be utilised efficiently.
Ensure the routine maintenance, cleanliness and security of vehicles and equipment being used on a personal shift by shift basis.
This includes not eating/drinking/smoking in the vehicles and ensuring the vehicle is clear of rubbish at the end of the shift.
Ensure the security of drugs and clinical equipment which are collected and returned on a shift by shift basis using appropriate procedures.
Notify Administrator/Manger of any required repairs to vehicles and equipment as necessary.
Participate in license checks, eye and health checks, driver assessments and all mandatory training as deemed required for drivers.
Promote positive and effective communications with other drivers, GPs, dispatchers, other colleagues, patients and external business partners at all times.
Participate in all team/departmental meetings.
Any other duties as reasonably requested by the duty Administrator/Manger.
