We have an opportunity to join our Hospital Catering Team.Applicants must have a good standard of education (GCSE pass or NVQ Level 1).
Previous Supervisory experience is desirable, along with Basic Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or 3.You will need a pleasant manner, be friendly and approachable; have the ability to empathise with staff and be diplomatic; good communication skills; interpersonal and organisational skills; the ability to work under pressure and prioritise own and other workloads; the ability to delegate efficiently.Bank hours are to be agreed with the Acute Catering Manager.
Main duties of the job Compilation and management of duty rosters, ensuring adequate staff are available to provide agreed service levelsSupport with staff training and maintenance of staff recordsBasic computer skillsEnsure all paperwork at ward level is completed by staff according to policy and procedureMonitor food waste levels and temperature controlsCarry out auditsBrief and support staff on departmental issuesLiaise with ward staff, patients or relatives regarding special food requirementsEnsure enough stock available to replenish wards The post holder will be required to be flexible according to the needs and resources of the department and directorate, and may be required to undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
