Job Description Band 6 - Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist \n (Minimum 6 months NHS experience is mandatory) \n Band: Band 6 Job Title: Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist Location: Green Wrythe Lane, Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust Pay Rate: £25 per hour Pay Mechanism: PAYE Contract Duration: 3 months \nAbout the Trust\n Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of services to around 500,000 people in southwest London and northeast Surrey.
The trust offers specialist care in cancer, renal services, and stroke rehabilitation, with a commitment to delivering excellent care and improving patient outcomes.
\nJob Overview\n We are seeking a Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our Children's Occupational Therapy Service.
This role involves providing specialist assessment, advice, and treatment for children with functional difficulties in self-care, productivity, and leisure.
The postholder will work autonomously, contribute to service development, and deliver high-quality care as part of a multidisciplinary team, in collaboration with schools and families.
\nResponsibilities\n \n Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for children with functional difficulties.
\n Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, school staff, and families to develop tailored care plans.
\n Plan and deliver therapy in accordance with service agreements for Sutton Health & Care Community Services.
\n Contribute to the ongoing development of the Children's Occupational Therapy service.
\n Maintain accountability for clinical decisions and actions within your defined clinical area.
\n \nRequirements\n \n Degree in Occupational Therapy and valid HCPC registration.
\n Experience working in paediatrics, specifically with children facing functional challenges.
\n Strong ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
\n Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with schools and families.
\n Commitment to service development and continuous professional development.
