Job summary A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a Senior HR Adviser to join our Operational Human Resources team at Watford General Hospital.
We're looking for a Senior HR Adviser to support our leaders within our Hospital supporting managers.
You'll also provide support to one of our HR Business Partners to address workforce issues such as recruitment, retention and absence and work with services to develop and implement initiatives to deliver high quality services.
Main duties of the job You will need to demonstrate experience of working in an HR generalist role, advising managers on a wide range of employee relations issues, and have experience of working in partnership with trade union organisations.
You'll have the confidence and skill to be able to take a coaching approach with the managers you support.Excellent communication skills are a must and you'll have great people skills and the ability to build excellent working relationships with managers and colleagues in your team.
Good organisation and prioritisation skills are also essential for this demanding yet rewarding role.

Job description Job responsibilities You'll be accountable for your own portfolio to ensure that cases are dealt with in a timely way.
You'll get involved in strategic priorities relating to the services you are supporting with the HR Business Partner.
We offer flexibility on how the hours will be worked including a blend on onsite presence and working from home.
Part time hours will also be considered.
We are also keen to support our team with their CIPD qualifications and support ongoing development for aspiring Business Partners.
Person Specification Education and qualifications Essential Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in an HR adviser role CIPD qualified level 5.
Working towards Postgraduate Qualification in Human Resources (CIPD Level 7) or willing to undertake Knowledge Essential Specialist Knowledge of employee relations and employment law.
Up-to-date knowledge of employment practices / law Knowledge and use of HR case management systems Some NHS knowledge (AFC terms and conditions).
Knowledge of change management Experience Essential Significant experience of dealing with a range of complex ER issues including grievances and B&H Experience of advising on local policies.
Some experience of complex disciplinary issues Experience of dealing with complex absence and ill health issues.
