You will carry out assessments in a variety of work areas across the Trust using manual handling and ergonomic principles to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of staff members.
You will also help with the management of our busy training team and help to promote the safety of patients by supporting risk management.Good communication, organisational, interpersonal and training skills are essential for the post, which will be proactive in the delivery of support, advice and training to all staff groups within the Trust.This is a rotational post which will allow you to develop skills in all of the service workstreams.
This will open up opportunities to progress your career in a forward thinking and innovative working environment.The service operates across all Trust sites and the team will be expected to travel to different locations for the start of their shift, including external sites, where their role requires them to do so.
Main duties of the job We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join the Manual Handling and Ergonomics team as a Manual Handling and Ergonomics Adviser.
You will work within a team, act as a role model, empower staff and promote good manual handling and ergonomic principles with your working practices.
This is a development / rotational post which will enable you to learn new skills and enhance your existing knowledge with the support of the senior team.The role includes visiting staff in their work area to provide support and guidance in applying good ergonomic principles and manual handling practice.
Acute or community health care experience in moving and handling of people would be valuable.
There will also be opportunities to influence training implementation and develop your risk management skills in the field of manual handling and ergonomics.There are excellent opportunities for Learning and Development available in the Trust and the successful applicant will be well supported and encouraged to develop in their role.
