Job summary An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to become part of our team of Clinical Pharmacy Technicians at Watford General Hospital.The post holder will collaborate closely with clinical pharmacists to deliver a comprehensive pharmaceutical care service to patients.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be required: To liaise closely with appropriate clinical pharmacists with respect to the pharmaceutical care service provided to individual patients.To work with clinical pharmacists to ensure discharge medication is planned for and is available as necessary.To support patient discharge at ward level through dispensing TTAs using the workstation on wheels.To identify those patients who require medication counselling and undertake that practice within agreed protocol.To obtain accurate patient drug histories in accordance with departmental standard operating procedure.To participate in clinical audit.

Person Specification Education and qualifications: Essential BTEC or NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
Professional Registration with The General Pharmaceutical Council.
Medicine Optimisation modules - in house or other.
Desirable Clinical Technician Accreditation in Medicines Management (or equivalent).
Accredited technician checking qualification.
Knowledge: Essential Aware of Trust goals and objectives and how this may influence the process of supply of medicines.
Basic clinical knowledge and English language across all domains.
Experience: Essential Experience of working with patients, including counselling.
