Automation Lead** (Contract) Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension) Location: Manchester/Hybrid (3 days per week on site) Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day rate is available for suitable candidates Role Profile Our client, a leading investment banking firm, is seeking an experienced Automation Lead to join their quality engineering team.
As an Automation Lead, you will play a crucial role in setting up testing best practises, leading junior testers, and driving change within their organisation.
Responsibilities: Set up testing best practises and inspire junior testers with new tools, approaches, and models.
Lead programmes as a subject matter expert, building confidence through reliable and repeatable test frameworks.
Empower people to be their best, driving change and leading by example.
Perform investigations and assessments into new testing techniques, approaches, tools, and technology.
Get involved in new Proof-of-Concept activities as directed by Principals and Leads.
Aid in the implementation of Tribe-based testing solutions and integration with the Chapter framework.
Deliver optimisations of end-to-end deliverables to support low hosting costs.
Work alongside junior testers to aid in their upskilling and development.
Run regular workshops to update the test team/tribe on contemporary test practises and solutions.
Critically analyse established best practises and provide viable testing solutions.
Encourage people to challenge and improve the way things are done to enhance outcomes for our customers.Requirements: ISTQB certified (analyst or automation cert would be preferred/working towards).
Proven experience in Test Automation.
Knowledge of Test Automation tools and practises.
Experienced in developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts, suites, and associated test data.
Able to build/support building new test automation frameworks.
Comfortable leading and driving improvements in the test space.
Experience in different types of automated and manual testing.
Understanding of Agile methodology.
Knowledge of building and testing APIs via Java.
Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Maven, NextGen, Cucumber, Eclipse, Oxygen, Selenium, Java, Apache POI, and JDBC.
