At GSL Education, we are searching for a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to support students in Sleaford .
This role involves working closely with students with Autism and helping them navigate their unique learning journeys in a classroom setting.
By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, you'll help them build essential skills and confidence, both academically and personally.
Autism Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support for students with Autism.
Assist students with their communication and social interaction, using appropriate techniques and tools.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to develop and implement effective support strategies.
Use sensory activities and resources to promote engagement and manage sensory needs.
Maintain a structured, calm classroom environment, supporting behaviour management plans as needed.
Encourage students to develop their independence and life skills.
Facilitate peer relationships and social inclusion during classroom and extracurricular activities.
Implement Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs) or Education, Care, and Support Plans (ECPs) to meet each student's unique needs.
Regularly monitor and report on student progress to inform future planning.
Qualifications and Skills: CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is desirable.
A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous.
Previous experience working with students with Autism or as an Autism TA is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, empathetic approach with a passion for making a difference.
Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of each student.
