Five Education is working with an Autism base in Taunton and we are recruiting support workers to work with young people who have Autism and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs.
They are looking for candidates who have experience supporting children and/or young people with SEND, ideally Autism, SEMH and/or SpLD.
Some of the students are non-verbal and use means such as PECS to communicate.

The position is full time from September, following the school calendar year and the standard hours are 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Experience with SEMH, high needs children, and autism is highly desired.
The successful candidate will be resilient, proactive and confident in handling challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities and duties: - Supporting students in the classroom and possibly around the school - Supporting students' social and emotional development, offering encouragement and guidance - Helping the class teacher with differentiation so all students can access the curriculum - Implementing behaviour management tools Essential Criteria: - Able to demonstrate positive reinforcement - Have an interest in supporting children/young people - Right to work in the UK - we CANNOT accept sponsorship or skilled worker visa - Relevant references and DBS/police checks if necessary - Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), 8:30-15:30 What can Five Education offer you?

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI.
