You will work autonomously and as part of ateam in the NHS Commissioned Adult ADHD service to provide a specialistclinical assessment and intervention to adults with ADHD and theirfamilies.
Main duties of the job You will conductADHD assessments, reassessments of need for adults and to conduct medicationfollow ups and will also be required to deliver pharmacological interventionsfor the treatment of adult ADHD.

Job description Job responsibilities Principal Duties:-To undertake a comprehensive holistic ADHD assessment for adults with suspected ADHD.-To undertake a reassessment of needs for adults previously diagnosed with ADHD.
To be able to ascertain if there are other co-morbidities.-To offer ADHD medication follow-up appointments, this will include monitoring the treatment response and assessing for any side effects.-To prescribe/titrate medication within a scope of practice once medication has been initiated.-Assessment will also include consideration of impact, differential or co-occurring conditions, and a risk assessment.-Post-diagnostic advice, psychoeducation and support.-To complete physical observations of service users as part of medication treatment (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse).-To develop trusting therapeutic relationships with service users, their carers, and their families (where appropriate).
To establish an effective therapeutic relationship that enables the communication and sharing of complex and sensitive information.-The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality, accurate and timely recording on Trust electronic systems, of clinical information such as assessment, formulations, progress notes, care plans, risk assessments, outcomes, and discharge.-The post holder will be responsible for making recommendations to the wider team and to referrers on additional assessment or interventions and skills required to deliver the plan of care and expected health/social outcomes which are evidenced based and lead to recovery and minimise risk.-The post holder will be responsible for devising a management plan with each individual service user.
-Promote the involvement and engagement of clients/services users and carer relatives in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care.-Work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective care plans and treatments are in place for highly complex clients/services users.-Ability to recognise, prioritise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations including the assessment and management of risk.-To develop and deliver non-pharmacological interventions and treatment for those with adult ADHD.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesCare delivery-Be responsible for the effective delivery and quality of care standards for the service or for the delivery of specialist services across an organizational and geographical area.-To maintain and develop relationships with professionals external to the area of service, service users and their families (where appropriate) within area of service/specialism.-To provide effective analysis of a range of complex facts and situations, inputting and establishing the application of evidenced based formulation and options of care that can be negotiated with the service users and their families.-To make appropriate judgments that best improve the treatment outcomes for the service users and their families as well as improve resilience and recovery and which mitigates risk to themselves or others.-To formulate and design interventions as part of the service users and their families management plan, ensuring that clinical policies and procedures are followed correctly and risks inherent in any procedures are minimised.-To ensure services are delivered in a manner that is appropriate, relevant and respectful to all community members, recognising the diversity of ethnicity, culture, belief, privilege and capacity of service users and carers.-To provide specialist advice to other members of the service, other areas in the trust, primary care and external agencies (if required) on the needs of service users and their families.-The post holder will review and discharge under the shared care protocol as appropriate once planned outcomes have been met.-The post holder will be responsible for collecting and inputting accurate information relating to service performance various outcome measures, clinic booking outcomes, activity recording-To attend ADHD team meetings/MDTs, service development/quality improvement time and supervision sessions.Record keeping, information collection and communication-Effectively manage highly complex and sensitive situations and conditions related to information regarding diagnosis of service users, other professionals and external agencies, where there may be barriers to understanding or a hostile and antagonistic working environment.-To be able to communicate reassuringly, finding ways of enabling the information to be understood and providing empathy and reassurance to service users.-To be responsible for the accurate maintenance of clinical record keeping and the required communication of individual patient care packages for the post holders area of responsibility/specialism.-To ensure all systems (electronic and hard copy), records, data and information (stored and transferred) are of high quality across the service which will withstand inspection of their effectiveness and appropriateness to support the delivery of safe services and compliance of MHWB policies and procedures.-To manage and maintain all electronic systems and data as required in the role, and safeguarding systems.-To be responsible for the accurate recording and transferring (to other services) of information relating to patients in receipt of care as determined by MHWB operational policies or when directed by the clinical lead.Leadership, Development & Supervision-To apply up to date professional and other knowledge to ensure any options of care for individuals is evidenced based and informed by theoretical and practical learning and experience.-Undertaking annual appraisals, supervision and proactively supporting the development review cycle, the progression of personal performance and achievement of objectives, including career aspirations.-To develop and facilitate, with other members of the service, clinical groups, training sessions and workshops as appropriate.-Maintain continuous professional development.-To measure personal, team and service goals and ensure they align to the wider Trust goals and strategic objectives.-To consistently plan and manage resource requirements within own area of specialism, ensuring the needs of service users are met and levels of clinical and quality standards are achieved.-To undertake Clinical Audits, research and test different types of aids as necessary for own area of specialism.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential GMC registered Doctor Professional qualifications relevant to MHWBS eg.
MBChB/ MBChC/ MBBS Desirable Masters qualification eg.
MRCPsych Management or Leadership qualification Teaching Qualification Experience Essential A minimum of 5 years post-qualification clinical experience.
At least six months of experience in psychiatry.
