Assistant Technical Officer-Purchasing (Pharmacy)

Job summary The post holder will work in the pharmacy department at Darent Valley Hospital within the Pharmacy Purchasing Office.
Candidates should be enthusiastic, demonstrate innovation, be able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively and must possess competent IT skills.
This position will not be supported for visa sponsorship.
All applicants are expected to have valid right to work document to work in the UK when applying for this position.
Main duties of the job The post will be based within our busy purchasing office.
Your key responsibility is to assist in the procurement of medicines and to occasionally provide support in our dispensary using the automated robot and Omnicell cupboards, full training will be given.
The role includes liaising with our suppliers ordering a range of medicines and products vital in the provision of care for our patients.
Excellent attention to detail is pivotal to this role, efficient procurement of all goods, materials and equipment is fundamental to how the hospital operates and has an impact on costs, budgets and ultimately the quality of service that the pharmacy and the trust provides.Full training and support will be provided as you must commit to undertaking the Pharmacy Services Assistant level 2 Apprentice program.Previous experience of working in a procurement or financial processing setting is desirable and exposure to working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage.

Person Specification Education Essential Educated to GCSE level or equivalent Desirable NVQ (QCF) level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent Possesses prior knowledge in learning to work to an NVQ level or an equivalent experience Knowledge Essential Good IT/Computer skills Customer service skills Good communication skills Desirable Accurate dispensing skills Working within tight deadlines Experience Essential Working as a member of a team Experience of working in an office environment.
Desirable Pharmacy / Healthcare experience Stores/stock control experience Experience of purchase to pay processes.
