We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join the Division of Medicine in the role of Assistant Specialty Manager for Acute Medicine and General Internal Medicine.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for a decisive and dynamic individual with operational and line management experience to expand their knowledge and skills in an ever-developing department.
Main duties of the job The goal of the Acute Medicine Specialty is to provide safe, effective and expert acute medical care to all patients admitted to Medicine.
Both the Acute Medicine and General Internal Medicine departments plays a critical role in ensuring patients get the right care in the right setting in a timely manner thereby improving patient outcomes, experience and the use of our resources.
The successful applicant will work closely alongside the Specialty Manager, Medicine Rota Co-ordinators and the Acute Medicine and GIM Triumvirate Leadership team to deliver exciting initiatives and transformation projects.
Previous experience with operational management and line management of staff is essential.
Previous NHS experience in a supervisory role is desirable, as well as a history working in Acute Medicine or with Same Day Emergency Care.
Applicants must possess effective communication skills, political astuteness and sensitivity.
You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills and be dynamic, analytical, adaptable and motivated.
