Job summary An opportunity has arisen for the post of Assistant Sleep Technologist.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic, hard working individual to join this friendly busy team.
You will receive training in setting up the equipment for diagnostic testing and therapy sessions including Oximetry Studies.Most of the practical training will be given in the department and will include Respiratory Sleep Studies, Continuous Positive Airways Pressure ventilation (CPAP), Paediatric Oximetry studies and mask fitting.
You will be trained to participate in Follow-up clinics for patients on therapy and you will be required to attend various workshop sessions and other courses to obtain certificates of competence.You may be required to participate in night shift if required, although this has not been implemented at the present time.This is an opportunity to work in the fascinating area of Sleep Medicine and be part of a growing and important vocational profession, within the NHS.Uniform is supplied.Hours Monday - Friday Main duties of the job To perform a range of diagnostic tests & procedures bothsupervised & unsupervised and assist with the day to day runningof the Sleep Laboratory including compliance monitoring and Datacollection with on the job training and assessment.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Science based GCSE(s) or other science-based qualification Good literacy and numeracy skills English and Maths GCSE or equivalent NVQ2 in care / relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience Desirable Interest and desire to learn and commitment to ongoing training and development.
Experience Essential Previous experience of dealing with public and or patients Desirable Experience in healthcare environment Experience of working in a hospital clinical setting
