Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Operational Management Team at Central.
We are looking for an experienced administrator who wants to expand their knowledge and management skills as an Assistant Service Manager, supporting the Vascular team.
The post will include the overall management of the administrative team, delivery of referral to treatment targets and co-ordination of the rota.
This will involve close working with the consultant body and wider clinical team.
Main duties of the job The Assistant Service Manager will be responsible for the provision of operational and day to day management of clerical and administration services within Surgery, Anaesthesia & Pain.
The post holder will support in the achievement of key operational and strategic objectives for the Division, contributing where appropriate to the production of business cases and operational plans.
The post holder, as part of the Divisional Management Team, will also provide support to achieving standards laid out by the Welsh Government and has a key role in ensuring waiting time targets are met.
This will involve monitoring waiting times, capacity and demand, identifying problem areas and working with the Operational Management Team to resolve issues and ensure a co-ordinated approach to the delivery of services.
The post holder will ensure that routine and ad-hoc information is provided to support the monitoring and achievement of all performance related targets.
The post holder will provide cover for the Clinical Services Coordinator which will include arranging cover for short notice absence for junior medical staff.
To Manage on a daily basis the consultant and junior rota allocation for on call and elective activity.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
