ROLE: Assistant SEN Co-ordinator (Admin / Provision) LOACTION: North Leeds SETTING: Mainstream Secondary School START: ASAP Within this role you will be supporting students access to learning and support with the raising of the standards of educational attainment.
You will provide administrative support to the needs of students, to overcome barriers of learning.
Overview of Responsibilities: Support and promote the SEND Strategy throughout the school Supporting the development of and application of EHCPs to meet the needs of students Development of strategies/providing guidance to colleagues to support the specific needs of students.
Use data and other information to inform planning and identify improvement targets Analyse current performance of SEND students and devise strategies for improving standards further.
Oversee planning/schemes of work for SEN and Inclusion to ensure curriculum Map provision and impact for the progress of SEND students.
Monitor SEND student standards and achievement against targets and track progress of all SEN students.
Contribute to the development of constructive links with the families / carers of students under the direction of senior staff / the teacher.
Support colleagues in their management of student behaviour by using school policy and procedures.
About You: Hold experience working within a learning environment.
Exceptional understanding of special educational needs and educational settings.
Supervisory experience.
Hold exceptional interpersonal skills, to work within a team.
Able to use initiative to work independently and make decisions.
Strong administrative skills and able to accurately record data.
Able to relate well with children and adults.
Work empathetically with children, families and other members of staff Have knowledge of SEN code of practice Ideally have training in the relevant strategies e.g.
literacy and /or in particular curriculum or learning area e.g.
Additional language skills, sign language, dyslexia, ICT, maths, English, CACHE etc.
