Assistant Psychologist

Job summary We're looking to recruit a dynamic, engaging, Assistant Psychologist to work alongside a Consultant Psychologist on a busy acute adult inpatient ward.
The mixed-gender ward has a cohesive MDT approach and psychology is highly valued by staff and patients role would involve co-facilitating psychologically informed groups, working individually with patients, carrying out behavioural observations and functional analyses, being involved with service evaluation and analysing outcome data.
Main duties of the job Co-facilitating evidence-based psychologically informed groups to patients on a mixed-gender acute wardDelivering personalised individual sessions to patients using a range of psychological modelsAttending daily MDT handover meetings at the start of the working dayUndertaking literature searches for the Consultant Psychologist to help inform practiceSupporting the Consultant Psychologist with audits and service evaluationsCollecting and evaluating outcome dataDeveloping/collating psychological resources for the staff and patients on the wardEngaging in weekly supervisionAttending monthly psychology specialty meetings for ongoing CPD The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job description Job responsibilities You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents or please click Apply now to view in Trac Person Specification Qualifications Essential Psychology degree with GBR Desirable Post-graduate degree Formal training in a psychological intervention ( CBT or DBT) Experience Essential Previous experience as AP or Research Assistant Desirable Previous on an inpatient environment Previous experience of delivering psychological intervention Ability to reflect on own lived experience Skills and Knowlege Essential Basic competency in word processing and statistical analysis Desirable Experience using computers for databases or data analysis, including SPSS and Excel
