Job description Job responsibilities Full Time Assistant Psychologist Starting Salary: £26,500 Cygnet Nield House Cygnet Healthcare is seeking to recruit a full time, experienced and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join Cygnet Nield House in Crewe, Cheshire.
This role will be working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
Cygnet Nield House in Crewe is our 29-bed mental health hospital for women.
The hospital provides care across two wards, each offering specialist mental health services: Clarion Ward, a 14 bed complex personality disorder service for women with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating.
Compton Ward, a 15 bed acute service for women.
The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission Job Role The role of the Assistant Psychologist will be to support and enhance the psychological care of clients within Nield House by assisting the Qualified Psychologists in the delivery and evaluation of effective services that meet Cygnets Healthcare objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and wellbeing of clients.
The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation and supervised individual and group interventions.
Clinical supervision will be provided as an important part of personal and professional development, and additional training will be supported.
Candidate Profile You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised.
You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk and the importance of evidence-based interventions.
Patience and commitment are essential, but above all youll be someone with a genuine desire to help others.
We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology, further postgraduate training in relevant area of applied psychology and mental health is desirable.
Previous experience of working within in-patient mental health services and settings is essential alongside some experience of working with women who experience mental health difficulties.
At least 6 months previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and group therapy sessions is desirable.
